Are you buying a monitor: Yes - Dual Monitors

Parts to Upgrade: Building from scratch

Do you need to buy OS: Yes - WIndows 8.1

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: www.newegg.com, www.microcenter.com, www.amazon.com

Location: Jonesboro, Arkansas USA

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, NVidia Graphics Card

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Additional Comments: I want to be able to have Blender, UDK, Flash and probably YouTube all running simultaneously across the dual monitors without too much lag.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I've been using the MacBook Pro that was part of my online program at Full Sail University. I am graduating in April and I want to build a machine that will allow me to delve into Indie Game Development.

Here is the link to my parts list on www.pcpartpicker.com. I have all of the items listed as purchased because I have them all in shopping carts and hoping to purchase by this evening. What I am really looking for is some positive reinforcement that this machine will cater to my needs until I can invest more into upgrades. Seeing as this is my first foray into building a PC, all comments will be greatly appreciated.

You can definitely get better components for $1K for that, and it still gives you $200 - $250 for monitors. And no reason to get a non overclockable CPU with an unlocked motherboard. Try something like this:
