Raid 5 Storage for Plex media Streaming

I currently have a plex media server running of my main rig using USB attached Drives. This is not the safest solution and when one of these fail I will lose all the data. I can stream 1080p to my rokus, android, iOS no problem. My motherboard does support raid5 however I heard that is not the best solution if/when a drive fails for recovery. So I plan on buying:

4 x 3TB WD Red
WD Red 3TB Newegg

Controler card
HIGHPoint Control card

These will be installed inside my current rig and my assumption is the card will still use my PC to do the raid 5 math but will not effect any transcoding my machine has to do for media streaming.
Will these items do what I want? Am i over paying? Am I completely doing this wrong? THANKS for any help and/or advice.

i5 2500k CPU

Edit: I do have an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 would I just be better off using the on board raid 5? I do not find it financially prudent to spend $450 on a decent raid card.

Solution
Well it is PCI bus, max speed out of PCI bus is about 85MB/s where SATA and PCIe x1 lanes is 3Gb and 2.5Gb. That is the different

SYBA SY-PCI40010 is NOT a hardware RAID, SyBA lies.
Ask them where is the IO processor in SiI3124? there is NONE

SYBA SY-PCI40010 is a hardware Raid card for $35? If so ill order one now. I know its only SATA II but thats fine for what I want.

Edit: Never mind it says right in the title HARDWARE RAID .. however that seems very very cheap.
