I need help with a gaming rig I'm building, I'd like to know if the new parts can fit the current case and if the RAM I have is still great/efficient for gaming. Note that I intend to play on max settings with a resolution of 1920x1080.

CPU: intel i5-4670k
MOBO: MSI Z87-G43 GAMING
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB
GFX: MSI GTX780 GAMING
PSU: Seasonic SS-650G 650W

RAM: Kingston HyperX Genesis 2x4GB 1600MHz (bought in November 2011)
CASE: Cooler Master HAF 912+

If the RAM should be replaced, the only one I could buy is Corsair Vengeance CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9B 2x4GB, though only if it's absolutely necessary.

Solution
Dear, System will fit in this case. No issue. RAM is ok though you've not specified the CAS Latencey of the RAM but still it is ok. Check if your RAM's CAS is 9 stick with it. Don't change it.

Everything looks good except I would change the hard drive to a western digital caviar black or caviar blue. They're more reliable. The black is faster but noisier and the blue is a little bit slower but not as loud. I own both these drives and would highly recommend both of them

Because the query was not related with HDD so it was not addressed. Anyhow, I agree with StormyIV. I've always recommended WD Black Caviar because of its performance. It is upto the user what he wants.

more wattage is recommended also a little change.

If you plan on over clocking you're going to need an after marker CPU cooler or else your CPU will over heat. I own the MSI g45 gaming and Kingston hyperX genesis ram and both are great. Just a warning I wouldn't recommend using MSI's OC genie because in order to un do it you'll have to reset your bios and from what I've been reading any program that auto over clocks for you most likely over volts which is bad.

I might actually be able to get the Caviar Black 500GB (WD5003AZEX) through a new HDD-only store (guess I'm lucky, it's brand new and it has it in stock).

Thanks everyone for the answers, much appreciated.

Sorry for the double post, but if I were to get a EVGA GeForce GTX 780 ACX, would the PSU mentioned above manage it? A high-end PC store is getting Corsair Professional Series AX760 Platinum soon, should I just go for that and disregard the other one? It's a bit pricey for my taste but if it's the better choice, then money shall grow on trees for it if needed.

Sorry for late reply.

Good to know that you've got black caviar. Excellent choice. Recommended power requirement for GTX 780 is 600W. Your PSU is 650W. Although it should suffice though at its extreme. You better have 700W PSU because you would be overclocking as well and your must remain stabilize. Corsair AX is 80+Platinum and is very expensive. Don't go for that. Settle for other options in 700w if available.

Yes your are right this RAM has CAS Latency of 9 which is better so no need to change the RAM.

Well as I said earlier, the options here are very, very limited due to the recent price increase (gotta love my government) so the stores pulled out their 700+ PSUs. The Corsair is the only good one I can get since that store is only focusing on high-end gaming parts. They're also getting Corsair CX750 but it's only 80+Bronze, I was told to get Gold or above for this kind of build. Though the price is very good 95€ compared to 183€. Do you think the Bronze would do the job properly?

It will. No issue. There are PSUs without this 80+ certificate and they are working. If you think you have budget then you may opt to buy AX series else CX is not bad. Besides corsair are there no other options?

Alright, I'll just decide on the PSU when I know exactly how big my budget is. Good to know that I can get either of those. Unfortunately, no, Corsair is the only option right now. No one really knows when they'll be getting new 700+W PSUs so I'll just get either the CX or AX.

Thanks a lot for the answers, you made my life easier.

All the best dear.

Should you have more questions pl let me know.
