which external hard drive to buy?

I am looking to buy an external hard drive. These two are are on the amazon best seller list and seem to have good reviews and around the $100 range? Which one would you go for or which other drive do you recommend:

Seagate Backup Plus 3TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STCA3000101)

WD My Passport Ultra 2TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0 with Auto and Cloud Backup - Black (WDBMWV0020BBK-NESN)

I would go with the Seagate because it has more space, but some people will profess that Seagates are riddled with problems (none of which I have ever experienced). I have never had problems with WD drives, either.

Regardless, Seagate would probably be my choice due to the lower price and more space.
