Basically what the title says. Should i bother getting two gtx 780 ti and link them up in sli or should i get the gtx 780 ti super clocked gigabyte ghz edition at a 1080mhz base clock and 1125mhz boost clock. Also i will be gaming at 1440p and using my gpu for extreme gaming, video editing and high end projects.

Thank you

:)

My advice is just get one card.

Even though you have a 1440p monitor, many games like Skyrim will look almost exactly the same at 1080p (on the same monitor). I mostly game at 2560x1440 only on games like Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 etc because the small text/HUD does make things noticeably better.

Of the few games that might drop below 60FPS you can easily tweak the quality settings to look great and still get a solid 60FPS experience (I run at 60FPS VSYNC ON).

Personally, I wouldn't spend $720 more for the very small visual difference you'd get. Your system would also be a bit NOISIER as well.

Be VERY CAREFUL reading reviews to find one that has no coil whine issues like the latest Asus version.

THIS EVGA model might be the best one but I don't have time to look further:

You could if you want, the tri fan setup coolers are very quiet. The only thing you have to worry about is if you have the second card too close to the first card it might run quite a bit warmer. I have noticed my first card runs about 20C warmer than my second card because of lack of air flow in the 3rd slot. Now with the second video card in the 4th slot it works fine and they both run cool but there is about a 2+" gap between the second card and the 1st cards fans.
