i got a desktop, a laptop and a usb keyboard and mouse, is there any way i can hook my keyboard up to run both computers and just switch between the two without plugging the keyboard into the one i want to use it with everytime?

Get a wireless keyboard, and buy a second usb transceiver. You'll have to keep the transceivers far enough away from each other so only one works at a time, and then move the keyboard just enough to get in range of the other one when you want to switch.
