Hi everyone.
I just ran cinebench on the APU in my dads HTPC (50th bbirthday present Im building)
The temps ran high as f****. 82c under full load. This is unexeptable but is it normal?

I am using the GA F2A88XM-HD3 and have 148mm clearance in the mini atx chassi from Fractal Design, the Core 1000 USB3.0 for a cooler. Any good ideas on a siimple yet functionable cooler? I have kingston hyperx installed, the low ones. Btw, can the 1866 ramspeed effect the APU temps?

Thx.

its a little high but not really that unacceptable. ideally it should be around 70 to 75c max under full load. if you were in the 90c+ area under full load it would be unacceptable remember that APU will run warmer then a normal cpu under graphic high conditions as it as the graphics gpu and cpu to cool in the same package. is there any fan adjustments to mabe make the fan run a little faster.

also what was the room and case temps at the time. it might not be a cpu cooling issue but a case cooling issue. also what are your idle cpu temps at least 10 mins on sitting without anything running?

I found an old Phenom 2 cooler in my computer closet. I switched it and applied my own arctic silver paste and got way better temps. But also, Gigabytes own software was showing way better temps as well even before. HWmonitor might not be the best software with the APU´s?
Right now I have Idle temps around 25-30 and hit like 60 when I run cinebench. Thats must be considered ok, right?

yes those are real good temps now. yes some software might not interpret the sensor data right. they all see the same data but they have to know what they data really means for that motherboard. so I would trust Gigabytes software over 3rd party software. your old cooler must be of better quality I guessing

Yeah. The original one with the APU is a real lightweight tha does not even cover the entire chip where the paste is applied. Thx for the answer
