DDR3 or DDR3(OC)

Hey guys,

im thinking about buying a new motherboard and new components with it. The only thing stopping me is which ddr3 ram i should buy. the motherboard says it supports DDR3 1333(OC)/1066/800. Will a DDR3 1333 Mhz memory work?

Hi, yes DDR3 1333Mhz will work, the "OC" just means "Over Clock" which indicates that you can clock your ram timings.

Unless you are using an AMD APU then RAM speed will not affect you much at all. However DDR3 1333mhz should be what you buy as it has been a standard for a while now.

What CPU and mobo, in new builds these days 1600/9 is considered entry level and basically has been for a couple years now
