So, I know this problem is actually somewhat common. After a restart I started to have a random problem with my Lan. It is no longer detected by windows (network adapters does not show up in device manager.) I then tried to install the realtek driver for it, and got the error pertaining to "deep sleep mode." After some googling, I've come to the conclusion that it's a problem with my lan being a power reduced state and I need to wake it up. Any help?
I have an asus x58 sabertooth motherboard.

Things I've tried:

  • Remove the Battery from my motherboard.
Remove the ram from my motherboard for 10-15 minutes.
Fiddled around in my bios attempting to turn off "green lan" (unable to find it in my bios)

Yes, I do have windows 7. I checked and there is nothing for my network adapter there.

When you plug an ethernet cable into the back of the board do any lights turn on? (they should, like a green and a orange one)
If they don't your board might be bad and you have to RMA it or get a new one.

No, the lights are on. I tested the cable on my laptop.
