How much FPS will i gain when playing games like Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4?

Hi, guys !
My specs are:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
Ram: 4GB 1333Mhz (overclocked to 1600Mhz)
CPU: intel i5 750 2.67Ghz (overclocked to 3.2)
Mobo: Gigabyte P55 UD3
GPU: Sapphire R9 270x Toxic

Atm I'm running games like Crysis 3 for example with 44-45 FPS avarage, min 30, max 70.

How much will my performance increase if i upgrade to 8GB RAM? Will be running at 1600 mhz.

Thanks :)

  1. Not much if any, but I'd upgrade or atleast grab another 4gb stick just because its cheap.

Assuming you have nothing running in the background, your performance won't change much.
  2. I also doubt it would change much.
Benchmarks show a modern i5/i7 rarely needs more than 1600MHz CAS9. Slower CPU's don't need quite as fast DDR3 memory.

*It wasn't clear if you were using only ONE stick or not. If only one stick you might easily have a bottleneck of 20% in some games but that will vary.

I agree, go ahead and get 8GB (2x4GB) or even 1866MHz CAS9 since the price isn't too bad. For many games you might not notice a difference though.
  3. My advice is THIS memory:

    Don't get 1600MHz CAS11. Get either 1600 CAS9 or 1866MHz CAS9.

Be sure to do a full pass of MEMTEST.
  4. I'm using x2 sticks Apacer 1333 Mhz on dual channel (1.5 V) I want to buy another x2 on 1.5 1333mhz 2 GB, guess i won't need more than 8 gigs anyway in near future. What about the brand? Should I buy another "Apacer " brand or it doesn't matter as long the ram is the same speed and voltage as my other 2 ?
