Decided to pull the trigger last night and grab 2 Gigabyte GTX 780 ti for SLI in my new system. Running 4770k (Aftermarket cooler), 16gb, 120GB SSD, 1.5TB HHD, Thermaltake Smart M850W 80 plus bronze PSU, Antec full tower gaming case. I am running on the ASUS 144hz 1080p Gaming monitor.

2 questions.

1. All i have read online is that (2) GTX 780 ti's is complete overkill on anything but duel 1440p monitors. Why do people say this? Im gaming on a 144hz 1080p monitor and am averaging 90FPS on BF4 ULTRA using my (1) GTX 780 ti on 64 player multi-player. Seems to me, the extra 780 ti would give me the 144 fps that takes full advantage of my monitor. True or not? if not, What monitor would you recommend? I'm not looking for spend anymore than $450 on the monitor

2. My Thermaltake Smart M850W PSU is new and im hoping it will be enough to power my SLI system. It seems to be a very good PSU and gets good ratings. Do you think ill be ok if I don't overclock anything for now?

Thanks!

Yes. This is true. They are better for multiple displays. You should get a http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-24-led-hd-monitor/8767... This monitor has a 1 ms refresh rate, which I assume you already have, and this will run very well with the 780 Tis. The PSU should be alright.

Yea, thats the monitor I have ASUS VG248. I like to play some in 3D also. Hoping the SLI will prove to be a good investment and future proofing tool. If not, Ill just ebay one of em

I would say hold on to both of them and enjoy gaming at maxed resolutions for the next 3 years. (maybe not that long, who knows what will happen with future games) Also, you have the option to upgrade your monitor res when you want to.

My original post was less than 10 months ago and the 780 TI's are already obsolete. 3 gb ram isn't enough to play anything at 4k
