I was watching a stream last night when all of a sudden my screen froze a bit, went black and then came back to normal and I think a message came up saying "amd driver has stopped responding but has been recovered." (I'm using amd radeon 7800 series). After that my screen was getting weird graphical issues, black boxes flickering mainly, so I decided to restart.

After the restart the computer would display bios and booting, windows loading, etc. But when it got to displaying my desktop it would go black. I tried restarting a few times, sometimes it would show my desktop and then go black. I decided to go to bed because it was late, now when I try to turn on my computer it gets no display at all, no bios or anything. No error message on mobo or beeps either.

The computer does start because I can hear the windows start noise in my headset after a few mins, but I have no way to confirm if it stays stable.

Any ideas in how I can troubleshoot this error? I know it's not the monitor or cables having tested this.

Plug it into your TV or another monitor. If the graphics show on the monitor at Windows login, then you need to buy a new monitor. If it doesn't, then you need to buy a new graphics card.

However, you might want to do a chkdisk, memtest, and other checking elements.

I've already tested my computer with another monitor and monitor with another computer, it's not the thing causing the problem.

I just had a weird situation though, I reset the Cmos on my computer with nothing plugged into it bug my monitor and power, when I did I started getting an error code of 'd7', I looked up abit about it and found something about plugging my keyboard in, as soon as I did the errorcode swapped to '64', and when I now restart my computer it hangs on error code 'A2'. I have a "z77 extreme 4" mobo.

Looks like there is a problem with your motherboard. What processor do you have?

If it is an AMD A(xx), E(x), Vision (), or Intel CPUs, then it's your motherboard's or CPU's problem. The listed processors/APU has dedicated graphics.

If it is an AMD FX, or other AMD CPUs, then you need a new graphics card. FX and Athlons/Phenom/Semprons does not have one.
