Need help for my first PC build.

Hey guys I'm new here, I'm currently in progress of choosing my parts to build. here are the list i have so far, please give me your opinion and feedback if you can. Thanks in advance.

-Corsair 750d Obsidian
-16gb 1866MHz Corsair Vengeance or more
-Intel Core i7-4770k
-Geforce GTX 780ti Superclocked w/ ACX cooler *free AC Black Flag
-Red Cold Cothode Neon Lights
-Enermax 120mm Fan Red Twister Bearing
-(Ask for 240mm or 360 water cooling)
-Asus P9X79 Le ATX
-1000Watts Corsair
-2TB single drive
-250GB Samsung Evo
-LG 16x Blue ray

You don't need a 1000 watt psu for this build, of course it's a super powerful rig, but you may be spending more money than you need to if you only game. if you are just a gamer, the go with the i5 instead, also maybe downgrade to a decent 850watt (if you arent going to sli you can go as low as a 500 watt and still be fine if you get a good one.) there is just no need for a 1000 watt psu for this build

also have you looked at the total price of this build? as if you havent, you will be quite unimpressed with how much this is all going to cost you. also remember to pick up a copy of windows operating system

What will the system be used for? The build is major overkill if it's a gaming system and your LGA 1150 CPU is not compatible with your X79 chipset motherboard. oh and your motherboard is not compatible with the processor you picked. need z87 motherboard for the 4770k

Honestly you really dont need more than a 4770k for a computer science program (most people do it with a laptop anyways) but i really hope you've at least looked at the price of this kinda build as it will be north of $2000 USD

Yes i am aware, i just want a really good computer that can last me long. Im new to all of this and thats why i came here so i can get help and feedback. My budget is 2500-3000$. I know SLI and some very rookie terms but other then that i am lost lol.

Well yeah, go with 4770k and z87 motherboard, otherwise you have a good build

What resolution can i run with my setup? 1440p @ 120Hz?

I built a computer very similar to this for computer science and gaming to, and I can say firsthand you can't go wrong with the 4770k. One thing I would recommend is picking up a cpu cooler like corsair's h100i (what I have) because the 4770k gets really hot.

1440p 120hz is possible, but you won't get more than say 80 fps average in bf4 at 1440p

Eh, the 780ti is slightly overpriced right now, but honestly the whole thing isn't too bad.

2 780 in sli will be much faster in some games, but in other games (ones that give no sli benefit or scale poorly) you will see no benefit. for 1440p a 780ti is more than enough.
