OK guys, i use this site for my job all the time and always find great answers, now im trying this for my own benefit! 
So i just bought a new Asus computer and was excited to use the HDMI with my external tv, a Emerson LD195emx.
When connecting it via Hdmi, the picture looks so bad! Horrible. The picture is cut out, and the txt and windows look like a monitor picture from the 90s.
My Asus is a windows 8.1 Model number Q301LA .
I go into control panel/Hardware&sound/Display/Change display settings, but i am not getting much help there, i can someone how make my background smaller ( on the external) but my taskbar is still getting cut out and the things on the screen is still blurry. The screen works, because on my old PC (Dell) connecting it with VGA works just fine and looks great! Any help would be so amazing guys!

Also card/Display adapters: Intell HD graphics family.
It is a 64 bit laptop, with touchscreen if that makes a difference or anything.
