This should be able to play most games on high-max settings.

and you have 2 unused cores on that processor, unless you do proffesional video editing while playing games..... you dont need 550watts cause you dont need a 6 core processor when games can ONLY use a max of 4 and thats only a handful of games. the only asus motherboard i ever used lit on fire. i say save some money and go quad core. and I prefer msi boards. so i suggest an i5 haswell chip, which will run much faster than that 6 core, and a cheaper power supply. thing is, dat i5 is gonna be expensive, so if you really cant affford the intel chip, still go with a 4 core from amd, it will run cooler and you wont use six cores i promise.

i5 aint gonna be cheap so you may have to push your comfort zone. all i can say is 6 cores is useless unless you care about power computing, and i5 is the best 4 core you can buy considering hyperthreading on the i7's isnt utilized by games. lemme see if i can put a build together though

Well i can spend up to 800$ and not get a monitor and use my old one i all ready have windows 8 and a ssd so im good there

At $700, there's no way you can get a decent i5 gaming build. I admit that i5s are the strongest processor for gaming, but they are expensive. AMD processors are perfectly fine and capable in budget builds. Also, when it comes to AMD, games can actually utilize all the cores because they aren't really 6 physical cores and the per-core performance isn't that strong. The 6300 is only a bit more than the 4300 (~$10 more) and it is definitely worth the extra performance.

Also, Asus boards are very high quality. Gigabyte, Asus, and ASRock are the top three manufacturers in motherboard. MSI is alright, but a lot of their boards has crappy VRM heatsinks which lead to the VRMs overheating. I would definitely go with the top three over MSI. The Asus M5A97 R2.0 is one of the best 970 chipset motherboards and it's on sale (usually around ~$90-95). It's highly rated for its high quality VRM heatsinks which are very efficient and can lead to decent overclocking for a 970 board.
