Hi there fellows,
I needed an upgrade for my radeon hd 5550, you guys adviced for a gtxz660/ hd 7870, but I got, 'caz of your review a new Asus AMD Radeon R7 260X( it's in the box, we both stare at each other eagly).
Two new issues arrived, togheter with it:
1. I've got a foxconn a6gmv( specifications at http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000496) i dont know if is compatible pci-e 3.0, if not what are the disadvantages?

2. my psu is a lpj9-25 3 sata(specs at http://www.en.linkworldcomputer.de/000001986709fa002/000001986b0bfbb04/00000198670cc6005/index.html), it says 420W on it, WITH TP on voltage+3,3V & 5V 185W. To get more tehnical, i could also find these voltages:
orange-25A, red- 34A, yellow-17A, blue 0.8A, purple-2A.
I found a 4pin connector with red-red, black-blackx2 and yellow-yellow,I have a 4 to 6 pins adapter in the gpu box.
I sold the 5550 to fill in for the r7, will it work? What can happen if doesnt, will the new card get smoked?
Sorry, but I'm aphonous and underpaid, I'm tryin' to find on internet, need guidance. Is really not a situation where I can NOT buy a new psu....

Forgot about it, i can not find the tp's for the r7 260x's, on wikipedia it says it's 115W. The ex 5550 is tped at 39W on Max. I want to find a way to calculate the power that goes through the 4 pins connector of my psu. Also, I think the pci-e gives some power? Or I dont know how it's done...

1. Your motherboard has PCI-E 1.0, this will work with your graphics card however at a slow bandwith rate which translates to 10-15% decrease in performance, maybe 20%. If you had PCI-E 2.0 then you would see no difference as no card currently can actually max out the bandwith of PCI-E 2.0.

2. Your PSU by the looks of it.. was made for the most basic of system seeing as how there is no +12V Rail which the R7 260X requires. So you will need to upgrade that.

My opinions, You should've gotten the 7870 since its about as good as a r9 270X or the 7870Ghz which is about the speed of a GTX 760. However don't be discouraged by this, I have no clue what you intend to do with the R7 260X and it just may perform exactly how you want it to

ty blank, I used the extreme power calculator
http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine
, with 50% aging to the psu and no video card. It went to 388W, but everithing works freakin smoth, the foxconn and psu, even if noname, on hardcore use 24/7 gaming mmorpgs for 3 years+ 2 from ex-owner, so i have the feelling the forged it just begun.
The originl purpose for the gpu is here:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1988616/upgrade.html
and YOUR ARTICLE SAID THIS:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-review,review-32884-3.html
I paid 110GBP for the:
http://www.emag.ro/placa-video-asus-amd-radeon-r7-260x-2048mb-gddr5-128bit-dvi-hdmi-pci-e-r7260x-dc2oc-2gd5/pd/DWTRJBBBM/#resigilate
while the gtx 660 is 147 GBP:

I can still return it in 30 days, mine's warranty is 36 months, as a previous opened product( not refurbished, brand new). I can find the r7 tehnology is newer, but i dont know if it worths the 1-2 months starvation..

it may work smooth on idle but how does it perform under load? do stress tests.
Also that's not my article an editor on toms made that not me.

I'd suggest keeping the R7 260X due to your PSU, if your willing to upgrade it in the future then you should upgrade the R7 aswell to an R9 270X, 760 or 660ti

Then I'll keep it, and test it tomorrow, I think on idle+ basics will do the magic, when i'll start Dota2 or C9, hope it doesnt crash/burn. From what i searched, the worst it could happen is that it can only shut down, since sucking too much from cpu etc. Or worst, psu crashes, in which case... anyway I cant sell it :D
