So I think I've finally figured out what I want to do for my gaming htpc build.
AMD FX 8350
ASRock 990FX Extreme3
Crucial Ballistix Elite 2x4gb
Samsung 840 EVO 120gb
Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb
Asus Radeon HD 7870 Ghz Edition 2gb
Fractal Design Node 605
~$680

So does it seem like all this will work? What will I need as far as a PSU? PCpartpicker says it'll be about 404watts, is that correct? I was thinking like a 550 just to be safe. Any cooling solutions? Can I do some sort of liquid cooling with an external radiator on the 2 80mm fan slots? Or just some 80mm fans? Do I need any more cooling at all? I'm not overclocking, but this is a lot to be in this case. Also, what would I have to do to add a TV tuner? Does anybody have any comments or suggestions? I am planning on about $1000, so I can put about $300 on top of the parts already listed above.

Thanks,
Joshua

You might want to consider doing an Intel set-up as they output a lot less heat. In such a tight case like the Node 605, you definitely want as little heat as possible. Something like the i5-4430 with a H87 chipest board should be about the same price.

Any recommendations for an external cooling system? I've looked at the koolance external systems and they look good, but I don't know if that's overkill for such a small system.
