Hi all. Just wondering if anyone can explain why the a10-7850 has such dismal memory bandwidth figures?. I find it weird that my fx 6300 can achieve 26000 write and 18000 write on 1866 9-10-9 but kaveri is struggling to reach 2100 read and 12000 write speeds and so on. with 2400 ram.

There was a lot of comments from amd that the imc was going to be improved but it seems to only affect max frequency's and not really latency or read/write speeds. Considering the a10 i have is running 2400 10-12-11-30 the results seem quite poor.

My FX 6300 can put out a 60 n/s latency but my kaveri struggles with a mid 70's? After all this whinging i must say i am impressed by its graphical performance and would like to know what people's thoughts on cpu performance and memory bandwidth. What is holding the a10-7850 back in that regards?

Am i just taking this out of context considering it is an apu and isn't supposed to compete against high end cpu's in pure compute performance?

well, The FX 6300 is a 6 core processor vs the A10's Quad core processor, there are lots of reasons to the figures, the FX 6300 is a better CPU overall as the A10 is like a Phenom with integrated graphics, The FX 6300 also consumes more power but doesn't have integrated graphics which most people don't really want anyways as they aren't good for gaming.
