Sup sup,

I was gonna buy the r9 280x but i think we all know what happened with those in the last few months so I decided on getting the GTX 770. What I was wondering is if my psu can handle it and how big this card is. I think I read that its like 10.5". Right now I have a mid tower with 2 HD 5700's and its pretty tight in there with the rest of my stuff. I'm hoping if I go down to 1 card I'll have room.

My psu is a Thermal Take TR2 Rx-850 AP.

Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Oh and I've never used a tv as a monitor before but I just picked up a 55" Sony W900a and was wonder how it would look with the gfx card.

Standard length of GTX 770 is 10.5". Your PSU (850W) is more than sufficient rather an overkill to meet the requirement of this single 770. :)

If middle cage of your case can be removed then you should not have any problem in installing this card in the case. For better advice pl provide the case info.

To setup TV as monitor is rather very easy:

1. Use HDMI cable for this purpose.
2. Connect one end of HDMI cable at GPU and one end at the TV. Your TV has HDMI port and its size is 54.6" Diagonal :)
3. Now turn on the TV and switch the input mode to the HDMI
4. Power on the PC and that's it you will see the display on the TV as if it is on computer monitor.

Regards,

Hey thnx for the replies. I was curious about the psu because I see alot of people talk about +12 volt rails? I think that's right. I've always just gone by the watts but you lean something new everyday.

As for the gfx card fitting in the case, I think I'll go ahead and order it and if it doesn't fit I'll buy a full tower which I've been trying to talk myself into doing anyways.

Dear, your PSU is ATX 12V v2.3, EPS 12V v2.91, so it is 12V single rail. It is 80+ Bronze Certified with +12V at 69Amps so there is no issue at all with this model and it is 850W.

Hopefully, the card will fit in the case.

Happy Hunting! and pl do share your experience with the new card.

Update: So I Received my EVGA GTX 770, Well actually Amazon sent me 2 and I'm trying very hard not to use the second one also as I would have to put out another $370 duggets. Anyways That card fits extremely tight in my case, I mean it goes from the back of the case all the way into my drive bay. I think i would recommend a full tower with this card because cord management doesn't exist in my case.

As for the card.....WOW coming from 2 HD 5700's this card is like butter. Everything looks awesome and runs so smooth. Very happy with this card. My fps sucks in Arma 3 multiplayer but I heard that's just the game not being optimized
