I have recently bought a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo cooler for my AMD 8320 FX. My cabinet is CM K380, now the top pins for the cooler touch the cabinet and I guess there is a bit of stress. Will it damage the cooler as well as the CPU ?

[strike]If the cooler is installed properly then there should be no problem.[/strike]

If cabinet/case is pressing the cooler then there is a risk of damage. In this case you'll have no option but to remove the side panel which is also not recommended.

Checked their website. This case supports air cooler with height upto 155mm whereas this cooler has height of 159mm. This should have been checked prior to the purchase.

Risk of damage of CPU and mobo is there so better take it out in my humble opinion.

Ah ok. In that case, then it touching the window slightly wont be a problem.

Pl guide him as the real problem he is asking is that there is a stress on CPU thru cooler. If cooler is touching the window it is ok but what about the stress as a result of it? pl

The stress will be insignificant. The perspex of the case panel will bend slightly. Trust me, it will be fine.

Mobos can take some bend without issue, pressure on the CPU isnt a problem, some coolers clamp with a lot more force than this.
