First PC Build in some time. Any issues I need to be aware of with these components?

I am looking to build a gaming PC and I have not built one in some time. I am looking for anyone to let me know if they see any potential issues with the components I am planning on purchasing. I would like to be able to game at high settings with at least 720p but ideally 1080p for Xbox 360 generation games and some new games coming out in the next couple of years:

Case: Rosewill Blackhawk Gaming ATX Mid Tower
MB: ASUS M5A97 LE R2
CPU: FX-8350 Vishera
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 4GB w/ EVGA ACX Cooler card
PSU: Corsair HX850 80 Plus Gold
Memory: GeIL Veloce Series 8GB PC3-12800

I don't plan on overclocking anything right away so I don't have a CPU fan. The case has 5 fans built in and the CPU comes with a stock heatsink/fan. Should I still be looking for a CPU cooler or should this setup be good?

Thanks for your time.

Normally, I would agree with you Murray, but I would stick with a HX series over the CX series. There are reports from CX owners of the caps in the PSU popping. I'd stick with the HX series. I'll give you the lowering the wattage to 650w particularly if he plans on overclocking. I only suggest the CX series for low powered entry PCs, but once the hardware goes up in power, it's off the list.

Edit: Jdrega, what is your budget?

I put in the 800w PSU because the EVGA card said it required 600w PSU. I figured I might play it safe with a little more than less. If you think it is overpowered then I can go with a 700w or so.

Right now the components are looking to be costing around $1100-$1200. Moving to the MB suggested increases it by $50 or so but lowering the PSU to 700w or something would bring it down a bit more. Not too worried about the budget but would like to keep it around $1200. Right now the card is the most expensive piece (as I expected it to be).

You need a cooler even if you don't want to overclock. The stock cpu cooler is a disgrace and barely keeps the cpu at safe levels. Grab a 600w good quality PSU. The gpu makers suggest higher psu than you need so they don't yet sued if a no name piece of sh*t PSU blows a system

Thanks for all the suggestions, MurrayA, barto and AshyCFC. I picked up a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for the cooler and dropped down to a Corsair TX650w. I also replaced the original MB with the ASUS M5A99FX PRO as suggested. Is there any other issues or anything I should be on the lookout for?

What games do you want to play? AMD cards have gone up in price since the release of AMD Mantle. BF4 is right now the only game that uses Mantle and will help significantly in BF4. I like Nvidia cards, but Mantle is pretty powerful. Also does it have to be AMD CPU? Just getting a feel for you're idea of computer.

Current games I am playing on PC (low - med settings) are Far Cry 3, Dishonored, etc. I would like to be able to play the Xbox 360/PS3 generation games as well as some new games (Thief, Titanfall etc). So I am trying to make a PC that is a bit future proof as well. Definitely not locked into any of these items if a better build is presented. I do like the 8 cores of the FX chip as I think games will start utilizing cores better since the new consoles are also multicore now. Overall just looking for a PC that will play at high settings with 1080p (ideal) or 720p.

I know a few people who use the CX series and have had them for a few years now, with no issue, so i can't not recommend them. I believe people on review sites see one or two people have issues and escalate the case. But with the amount that corsair manufactures, there will always be a few out of a batch that arent right
