APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Whenever I find the right card, Really. Ideally within the next few weeks.

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Watching HD content online, watching DVD's, playing online games.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Currently using Radeon HD4650. Power supply is a 600w with 6 pin.

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: P4 dual core (2x 2.xx) 4GB, Kingston Ram, 800mhz bus. I also have a core 2 duo which I might use instead.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Amazon, eBay, eBuyer, Scan

PARTS PREFERENCES: Not a clue, sorry. The CPU is intel, if that helps.

OVERCLOCKING: Not bothered SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Don't know, sorry.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Full HD 1080p

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Current card was cheap and I'm looking for a smoother picture when watching HD content. I've got a 23.6" screen coming and I'd like a new graphics card to get the full benneft. I'm running Win7 64bit ultimate.

Many thanks

@rolli59 - The HD7750 is within budget, how does it compare to the card I currently have?

@ubercake - Games are quite low resource, mainly java/ flash. I do often have DVD's running while playing games though. To upgrade, do you think I'd get away with a new CPU and GPU or is it a case of new MoBo, CPU and GPU (and then possibly new RAM)?

Many thanks

P4 (Pentium 4) is a very old CPU (released 2000).
Core 2 Duos are released 2006 so they are significantly more powerful than the P4, so better go with the Core 2 Duo.
BUT there is a high risk of incompatibility when adding new video card on MB/CPU that is that old. You can try it anyway but chances are like 50/50 to work.
So be prepared that additional upgrades.
Probably upgrade of MB/CPU/Memory/Video with new ones even basic level will work much better and faster.
Hard drive upgrade is also possible if the old one is not SATA.
For the lowest budget go with Intel Celeron CPU.
The suggested 7750 (GDDR5 variants only) is quite good option.
