monitor buying help please

I'm currently running 3 dell 2001fp 1600 x 1200 monitors. But I want to go to a single display so I can see the quality of my games and my rig. I only game and watch some movies but mainly game. Games like bf4 sky rim, dirt3, titanfall, the division, boarderlands2 , Rome 2, day and so many more.... so the question is should I go with the Asus pb278q 1440p 60hz monitor or Asus vg278he 1080p 144hz

My specs are
Fix 8150 liquid cooled 4.3ghz
8 gbs of dominator gt 1886mhz
2x 770 4gb wind force cards....ski
Corsair rm850

pb278q like like a graphics design monitor, i think you will appreciate the extra pixels ( if you can afford them), but there might be some other options more targeted towards gaming with 1440p resolution if thats your thing... this one I think your paying for a lot of design bells and whistles.

I dont think refresh rate really matters unless you playing some insane fps like the guy above said, but definitely look for low response time (below 7ms) ideally 5ms (2ms is overkill and not noticeable)

so you think the 1080p is better for me? and those 2 wont work for me because i want a 27in or higher
but thank you very much for the your time so far and yes shooter are my fav games

Ok awesome thanks so 1440p is what you recomend and will you look over the specs i just posted and tell me what you think and what kind of difference i would see....i know the ones i have are lcds...i a saw something about super ips mode but i only saw that on one site none of the others..but i know my mons are old

Personally I'd recommend getting a monitor with refresh rate of 120 Hz or higher if you are inclined to FPS games. The faster refresh rate definitely gives you a better experience while playing shooting games.

The colour texture and details will no doubt be less in a 1080p monitor than a 1440p but we don't play FPS games for their scenic beauties.

Nothing bugs me at all really if I run all 3 I can max all games on all 3 I just thought since they were so old I wasnt seeing the best I could or seeing the fps I should...

Isn't that the Rogers monitor? They want 800$ for that bad boy and I don't think im willing to drop that much
