Ok so I'm trying to figure out what would be better for my new H100i that I just bought. I have a Maximus V board with two 4 pin CPU fan headers but the H100i says to plug into the block itself. But I use Fan Expert2 to control my case fans. So Should I install Corsair link and plug the fans into the CPU block. Or should I plug the fans into the motherboard headers. I will be using the two fans that came with the cooler and 2 more SP120 PWM fans for pull. Please any advice would be helpful before i install.

use the fan expert instead, typically the corsair pumps are nortorious for having problems when having fans plugged into them. not always, but it is one of the most common problems

So I would plug them into the fan headers onto the board?

yes or a fan controller. i have had 2 h100i's so far and both of them faulted when plugging fans directly into the pump. great cooler, poor design for plugging fans into it

Ok next question then, How would I plug in all four fans in a push pull config with only a CPU header and CPU OPT header? Is it worth putting them in push pull or should i place two of the other fans in other spots (I have two places at the bottom of the case)

push pull will give you best temps, and if you arent too worried about temps of other components, then just run it in push pull and just buy fans at a later time to fill in these other spaces.

and if you can, plug them all into fan headers on the motherboard so that they will all change speed as needed based on your cpu temps

Yeah the reason why i want to put them in push pull is cause of the lower temps. I only have those two CPU headers, should I get 4 pin split cables? or put the two bottom(push) fans in the CPU headers and the two top(Pull) fans in chasis headers?

well, what you could do is only plug 2 into the pump, and the other two into cpu headers (i know i said not to, but this is based on having all 4 fans plugged into the pump (as i capable per spec of the pump)

lol but if i plug them into the pump i wont be able to control them with fan expert. Unless i just plug them into chasis headers and try to set them at a constant rate for air flow. also my case is a H630 which does have a fan header unit but they would be a full speed if i plug them into it.

then you sir have run into a case where you would need to buy a fan controller to control the fans in your desired fashion
