Hi all, sorry for disturbing. I was facing lately a strange problem with my AMD FX8150 with it's temp. I use CM V6GT Cooler but when I try to test the temp. with Prime 95 for 20min I get temp. nearly at 51, I think it's strange as I didn't do any overclocking. so is that temp normal ?

Solution

Sorry, but the temps are fine. This does not require any replacement at all, think before you answer the question man

Is the cooler clean, may be some dust has accumulated on the heat sink and it needs some dusting off.
The max operating temperature is 61 d c.
But if you haven't been experiencing these temperature before maybe your heat sink needs some cleaning.

So what is causing the temperature to be higher than before?

It is slightly higher but not close to the maximum operating temp. Thats why!

The funny thing is that you failed to give an explanation to the problem he has, you just comforted him that his cpu temperature is safe -for now- and you are accusing me of not thinking before answering.
For all we know it could be the thermal paste drying off or a problem with the VRM, causing voltage spikes.
Maybe you are the one who should think since the poster has stated that he didn't experience these temperatures before and that they have been rising for about a month.

Contradictory you say that 10 degrees from 51 to 61 the max temp are far apart while 11 degrees from 40 to 51 is a slight increase in temperature.

Maybe this guy has an airconditioner. I know this happens with me alot. The cool/dense air has a substantial effect on my temps.
You can only compare temps at similar/identical ambient conditions
