Hey guys,
I'm in the process of building a new computer, I've decided to start off with a beginner 1150 socket.
I've currently got a GTX 660ti, but i'm wondering if the i3 4130 will be bottleneck it.

Normally, I'd jump for the FX-6300, but seeing as there'll be limited to no upgrades for the FX series in the future and according to this review ( http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-o... ) - the 4130 outperforms the FX-6300 by an average of 7 Frames per second and ontop of this it's also Intels newest line of CPUs so it's bound to have more support than the FX-6300 for upcoming titles.

but my question still remains, will the 4130 bottleneck the 660ti?

Definitely will not bottleneck. The i3 has hyperthreading, so it runs 4 threads. It will do just fine with the 660 Ti :)

Ah. Good.
I was expecting the 2 cores to not be sufficient to run this properly. Remember reading somewhere you needed four cores, but I guess it meant 4 threads.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yeah, the i3 is capable of pushing any single card on the market without bottlenecking, by definition. A better CPU would get better performance in games, but it won't keep the card from reaching full speed.
