Hi, all I am having a rather frustrating issue as a very new computer builder.
I built my first gaming pc about a month ago and I recently added a new solid state boot drive. I did a clean install of windows 8.1 from a usb with my old 1tb hdd unplugged. One day I left my computer on to download a game to my hdd while I was away at work and when I came back the computer was in sleep mode, which it should have been ( I set the computer to go to sleep around the time the game was supposed to finish). When I woke up my pc, a restart loop started saying that is was performing updates before shutting down, after a few restarts (4 or 5) the computer booted to the desktop normally and I had to leave it alone. I didn't receive any error messages or notifications about a problem. After leaving the computer idle for about an hour the computer restarted again. Sadly i did not see this happen, I came back to find my computer asleep with the log in screen up. I have not updated the bios or turned on TRIM (I'm not sure if it was set to on or off by default either).
PS. I also added a new wd black storage drive, but it doesn't have the OS on so I don't think that is the thing causing me problems.
PC Specs:
Motherboard: Asus M5 A97 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-6300
Video: Asus GTX-660 Direct CU2 OC edition
Memory: G. Skill Ripjaw 8 Gb. (2x4 gb)
Storage:
Toshiba Q series pro 128 gb
WD caviar black 1tb
seagate barracuda 1tb (this drive was my only storage drive initially, I kept the OS and data on it so that I could use it for setting up the boot drive and formatting purposes)
PSU: SeaSonic M12I 650w
If there is any more information you need to help me troubleshoot I am happy to oblige.
