Is there an equivalent to HD SMART data that is kept for CD/DVD drives? CD/DVD-ROMs are going the way of the dodo and I want to get them out of my corporate environment but I would love to be able to show some numbers to support the claim that "no one uses them, why are we paying for it?"

There's no optical drive with SMART or it's equivalent but there is software for manually testing one:

I appreciate the info, however I already know that all of the drives are functioning properly. I am essentially trying to show empirical evidence that people in my company simply aren't using the devices and thus there will be no impact by us simply not offering them anymore.

Thanks.
