massive fps drop in games

Recently i have been getting a massive fps drop in games as DayZ and LoL, from 70-200 to as low as 20. I also noticed my AMD RADEON HD6770 GPU temp goes extremely high (over 100c). At 90C i have noticed the lag starts. My CPU also goes up to 65C when playing. I ordered a new GTX660 GPU today, hoping it to fix the lag. The thing i am asking here is there is no other reason the lag appears?

Also, is MSI GTX660 fully compatible with i3-2100?

That's crazy high temperatures, well over the operation threshold. You either have a case with terrible airflow or you have a problem with the cooling system on your parts especially that GPU. My card never even hits 70C when playing the most graphically intense games with max settings, so you're running into thermal problems. Take apart your PC and see if you can find a problem there.

After keeping the computer in the same position for three years, playing 24/7 damaged the card that much it basically just died. Airflow is not the problem, thats for sure. Really hoping the new card will fix the problem.
