I have 3 monitors asus vk278 with a ASUS Radeon HD 7770 DC TOP gddr5... can i connect them in eyefinity useing dvi-dvi cable for 1st one , hdmi-hdmi cable for 2nd one and displayport-displayport for 3rd one?.... my last try was with dvi-dvi cable from 2 slots form my video card for 2 monitors and 1 hdmi-hdmi for the 3rd one....but the 3rd one didnt work.... i really need an active displayport adapter?

Solution
That should work. The only time you need the active DP adapter is if say you have only monitors that support DVI and the DP needs to actively be converted to DVI or HDMI. But the DVI, HDMI and two DP ports are individual and should work for Eyefinity.

The best option would to be to use the two DP ports and the DVI as that I can say 100% will work because depending on the GPU sometimes the HDMI and DVI share the clock generator. But considering that Asus states that card can support Eyefinity6, I assume it would be two displays per DP and then one on HDMI and one on DVI.

Do the method you are thinking of. I saw a 7770 with 2 DPs, not sure why but when I looked up your GPU it was showing two.

But one DVI, HDMI and DP will work as they are separate signal clocks on each port. The second DVI does however share its signal clock with the HDMI port so again one DVI, HDMI and DP will work fine for Eyefinity.
