Shouldn't I be gettin better fps with my build?

Hi! :D
A couple days ago I made a thread which I didn't get a real answer on, so hopefully I can get it this time, now that I've a little more information about my computer :).

A couple days ago I built my first desktop, its specs are:
Ram: Corsair vengeance 1600Mhz
CPU: Intel I7 4770k
GPU: Evga Gtx 780 ACX
Psu: CS750m
Board: Asus Z87 Pro
1x 2tb mechanical + 1x 120 ssd HDD Samsung.

My problem:
I was told, and I my self were pretty sure, that this spec should be able to pull most games off with a very good performance. So far I've only downloaded 2 games (WoW and LoL). My average Fps in LoL is 100, and in WoW on Ultra it scales, sometimes 25 sometimes 130 fps. (25-40 in Stormwind).
This kind of dissapointed me, since I thought that I could get 144 fps in both games, so that I could experience my 144hz monitor to it's fullest.

Relevant info:
I'm pretty sure I've all of the latest drivers
For some reason my GPU's temperatures are low, I have not seen it reach more than 42C so far.
While playing WoW there's no big fps change between Good and Ultra, it's only increasing by 10 (don't know if this is relevant).
When I checked Task manager it seemed like my CPU were doing up to 4.2Ghz, (I've not done any OC myself yet) Which means that it works to it's potential.

Personally I think It's my GPU that is not delivering it's full potential?
I'm not sure.

If I am right in that my build should be able to pull of more FPS, please feel free to give advice! :)! If you've similar problems feel free to announce them aswell.

Thanks!

with the gaming pc. make sure the intel chipset drivers from intel are updated and the gpu in the right video card slot and make sure the bios on the mb is the newest from asus. with some games like wow that are 8-10 years old there game engine has not changed as hardware outstrip the game developer. I would use a few newer unreal test engin tests to see that your gpu at max load is working right.

Your performance is about correct. Aside from the dips, fairly normal. LoL and WoW are both fairly intensive CPU wise, which is why even with your GTX 780, you're seeing lower frame rates. Just has to do with the way the games were coded and whatnot.

Thanks for the quick responses!
Sorry I forgot about my rams - I've 16gb of RAM.
I've 1080p-1980 resulution.

I'm pretty sure I've the newest drivers, I will however do a re check later tonight :)
What do you mean by "newer unreal tests" like Evga Precision?

If it's normal then I suppose I should try and overlcok my CPU even further ? :)

Thanks!

Your CPU should be completely fine, it pretty much just comes down to how poorly (rather, old) the games are. I play WoW as well, i5-4670k @ 4.2 GHz, and SLI 780s. I get roughly 170-190 FPS in certain areas, ~150 in Stormwind. I'll get anywhere from 60-110 FPS in Stormwind when I'm running two other games (Rust & CS:Go), as I frequently multi-task.

I heard that Sli 780s should give 30-40% increased performance - which makes me wonder why I only get 25-40 in SW, with no other games open.
Also I find it wierd that my GPU stays at 35-42 C :/

Enemy1g, you said that you get around 150 fps in SW right? If that is true then there must be something wrong since you're having more monitors + way more than just 30-40% increasement :/, do you play on ultra?

I don't have any special cooling setup for my gpu, and even though ACX is supposed to be the coolest I still find 40C very low, fans are also only running on 40%~.

Could it be windows is not completely updated, or that theres something wrong with my GPU?

Are there any other games you can test your GPU performance with?

I'm playing with everything on Ultra except Shadows, I usually play with them on, but Rust was hogging a lot of resources before a patch was applied, and I saw my FPS drop to ~20s in Stormwind. Granted, I don't have to be running multiple games at the same time, but once Rust applied an update, my FPS was back to normal and I just haven't cared enough to turn shadows back on.
