Hello good people at Tom’s

Newbie builder and I’m having some trouble with a computer I built a few months ago. I threw this build together as a budget PC for general development, schoolwork, and to play the occasional game or two with friends. I successfully had the build running and it was performing every task perfectly, but a few weeks later I went to start up the rig and I received no output to my monitor. A black screen. Fan’s were working, CPU phase LEDs normal and disk tray opened. If it matters my mouse and keyboard didn't seem to receive output, as in they didn't light up, and I don't receive beeps probably because it isn't set up.

I tried everything from reseating the CPU, trying different combinations with my RAM, switching my GPU to the other PCI slot, and my PSU was connected properly. The GPU also worked in an older PC. After some research, I decided to RMA the mobo which took me a while to get back because I forgot to send in the back panel “hub”. Opps hehe. Anyways I got a new mobo back and I have the same exact problem. I was unable to follow up and get the problem fixed because of money and time. Fast forward to now, I have some extra time and a little extra money to remedy the situation. At this time I don't want to deal with manufacturing RMAs.

On top of this I later learned that a few of the 970A mobo’s have a problem with the FX Vishera series processors and they need to be updated with an older compatible CPU. I did not have this problem the first time since everything worked.

What is my problem here? Is it my new mobo or could it be my PSU? Or is it something else that I'm overlooking? Since this is my first build I’m feeling a little overwhelmed on where to start so I came here for your collective knowledge. I apologize if this post is too long I wanted to be thorough and provide some background.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Nope. I never had speakers on this system besides plugging into an system with the "headphone" cord. So I'm unable to get any beeps.

Cool can I purchase one to work with the existing setup? If so is there one you'd recommend?
