Hello, quite recently my friend and I were doing a budget gaming PC build. We are using Linux as a temporary operating system untill we can get Windows. However we came across a problem. For some reason when my friend try to install linux(we used a disk) we only have 2.1 GBs of storage on a brand new 500 GB hard drive when we tried to install linux. Do we need to send the hard drive back or is it a problem with linux?

More information would be helpful, such as what linux distrobution? What Motherboard? Depending on which one you are installing, you can take screenshots and post them online from the installation. Also there is usually a live help chatroom available while you are installing. If yours isn't capable of this, I would recommend Ubuntu Studio available @ www.ubuntustudio.org
