My Computer IS NOT responding, what happens if I just shut it off using the button on the case?

Hi, earlier my computer wasn't responding, so I just shut it off using the button. I then loaded it in regular boot mode, and everything seems to work fine. I am just paranoid that something has happened to my system, could anyone please help me sort this out, thanks.

P.S.: I have Windows 7 64 bit

Although issues like this do bring up the question "why did it stop responding", shutting it down the way you did shouldn't affect your system, unless you were in the middle of a large system update, firmware update, driver update, etc.

If there were issues caused by the shutdown you'd have likely found them by now and would be modifying your post :p

No, I just started up my computer and it kept loading for a very long time, the pointer icon was in the blue loading circle and I couldn't do anything, not even press ctrl + alt +delete, so I shut it down. Is there anyway for me to find the issue?
