Hello everyone, earlier today I was just on YouTube and in the middle of that my computer screen went black and many beeps started going off. Thinking this was a freak thing, I pulled the power cord out of the back after it shut down after 30 or so beets, all very quick in succession no long ones. After another try at turning it on, the screen never loaded and the beeping began again.

So first I tried by testing out each memory stick, I have 4 each with 2gb. To my surprise each stick individually started the computer. After putting all 4 ram sticks back into the computer it loaded and no beeps but it seemed the fans were working harder than usual. Is this a sign of some problem I should be aware of or could this have just been something like an overheat? It was a little warm in my house today but all the fans seemed to be working. A response would be appreciated

Note: this same thing happened about 5 months ago, but that was a defective memory stick which was fixed.

Are you connected to a surge protector or directly into the wall? I ask because you said this happened before and sometimes SDGE or PGE or whatever the power company's name's generators pulse more during heat waves causing "freak" issues via power lines without experiencing black or brown outs. These are hard to measure but they do happen and a surge protector and even better ups's can help circumvent these issues. Is your cpu working fine again now btw? It could still be component related but I don't want us jumping down rabbit holes when it's not necessary right?

Yes my computer is connected to a surge protector, and I don't think that other incident is related because I know for a fact that was just a dead ram stick from the manufacturer. From your response it doesn't seem like its a priority issue as it haven't happened since. Thanks for the response.
