I recently upgraded my processor from a AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE to a AMD FX 8350 and now i have sudden fps drop.

What could be the cause of this?

PC Specs:

CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 660
Motherboard: ASROCK 960GM-U3S3 FX
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
Case: Thermake Armour A90
Cooling: Corsair H80i
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
RAM: 8GB PNY 1600

Well technically, the 8350 isn't supported with that motherboard. The FX8300 is an actual CPU not to be generalized with the 8320 and the 8350. Have you tried updating the BIOS? There's no guarantee that CPU will work.

Is there any other solution or thoughts?

Yes. I'm more inclined to trust the manufacturer's website over a 3rd party site. Again, do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

Also, the only FX CPUs supported are the 95w TDP. Yet the website you have shows all versions of FX processors.

Well I sent an email to ASRock tech support just to see what they say. I encourage you to do theft same. It's just odd because the only thing you did is update your cpu. What PSU do you have?

Oh i forgot psu.
PSU: Rosewill TACHYON -650 650W
Sorry bout that... but if it runs but just lags that could just be the cause of it not being compatible?

That PSU is fine. I'm really leaning to the CPU incompatibility being the issue. I received and email from tech support, it's not supported.

Hi XXXX,
Unfortunately, FX-8350 (125w) is not supported.
Please visit the CPU support list link at http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/960GMU3S3%20FX/?cat=CPU

Thank you

Does the 960GM-U3S3 FX support the FX8350 according to the CPU support list, it doesn't. However, there are other reports that the motherboard supports the 8350. Does it or not?
