Hi! I have enough money to buy my first mid-to-high range graphics card. I currently have 2 GTS 450's in SLI. i can run alot of games, but i can't run Assassin's Creed IV at all. i was wondering what current cards compare to the SLI setup, that way i can find something better. if i can save some money that would be cool too. thank you all for reading.

Going SLI on low end cards usually gives more troubles than performances, so you might as well just go for a single card.
Back in the day where they were released, those cards were worth $130 each. If you want something similar today, take a look at the GTX 760, which you can get for around $250.

yea. i was going to try and avoid the SLI setup and just go for a good card. i also want to keep it for a while. the gts450's have been running for 5+ years now. i just really want to make sure that the card is WAAAAAY more powerful/efficient than my current setup. i also want to make sure the card can run Assassin's Creed w/o tearing on max settings. ty.

Can you tell me more about your rig though ? CPU/RAM/PSU
Because, considering your cards, you might also have some other things to change too, even with the card that I recommended above, which, with a good CPU, enough RAM, and a good PSU to power it, will run Assassin's Creed without a problem. Rather on high than on max settings, though, at 1080p.

Looks like the gts 450 sli is about equal to a single gtx 470.

So comparing a single gtx 470 to a gtx 660.

So a gtx 660 or anything higher would be a very significant upgrade. And should run black flag very well.

If you are looking to play that game maxed at 1080p then probably something like a gtx 770.

What resolution do you play at?
