Ok, a few months back i walked away from comp n screen was black n comp still running. Held power button turned off n back on. Comp would turn on but only as in fans n lights. Then after a day or 2 it would work fine. As time went on it happened a few more times. Recently its bin happening twice a day. N now while im on it the screne will go black. And oh the mouse n key board lights go off when alll of thishappens. I replaced the 3v battery.. honestly would just buy a new comp but its an hp i paid 650 for it 3 years ago... sorry such a long explanation.. i couldnt find answer any where...

Solution
When it does that, do that lights on the power button on the computer blink? and/or does the computer make a series of repeating beep patterns?

I'm thinking that it might be the power supply gone bad, but:
Do basic procedures.
Unplug computer from electricity.

Press power button to discharge any power left in the system.

Open up the case.
Remove the sticks of ram and put them back in. They can become loose and not make good connections after a while or when you move the computer.

Get a compressed air can and blow out any dust, especially dust stuck in the heat sink. They sell at Best Buy, WalMart, Staples, etc.
