Reversed polarity. Should I worry?

I had a big problem after I finished building my PC, to the point that I had to return the PSU/Motherboard and it burnt a chip on my graphic card.

Due to bad service I entirely lost the graphic card.

Right now I'm pretty freaked out, because I'm not sure what was the problem and I want to eliminate as many future problems as possible.

I live in a "developing" country, which many people (including my family) opt for unprofessional electricians.

I had to specifically ask for a grounded outlet for my new PC, because I was shocked to discover that my house didn't have any grounded outlet.

Now my question is, should I be worried about a reversed polarity AC outlet?

Thanks in advance...

To be safe, buy a UPS (Un-interruptable Power Supply) it's a battery for your computer when there is no power, but more importantly it cleans the power to make sure the PC (and anything else plugged in) gets good, safe electricity.
