I have bought a new AMD FX 6300 processor. And I want to know that can I work with the stock cooler? I am not going to overclock it. And do I need to apply the thermal paste on the processor when I install it with the stock cooler?

More about : installing 6300 stock cooler install stock cooler apply

I believe the stock cooler comes with thermal paste/strip pre-applied, so you shouldn't need to apply any extra.

It will work just fine with the stock cooler, if a little noisy.

The stock cooler comes with pre applied thermal compound and do not add any more. If you are not looking at OC'ing you cpu to the limit and have a decent controlled ambient temperature, The stock cooler would be fine.

If you do not plan to OC at all, the stock cooler is pretty much all you'll need.

Have fun with your system.

All the best

So is it necessary to buy an after market cooler for this processor? Or will it work fine with the stock cooler?

How old is your processor? Try to apply thermal paste on your CPU may be that will help to lower down your CPU temperature.....
