Hi all,

I have had the same system now for a few years and its just started to play up a bit. When I turn my computer on after being off for a while some strange things happen. It turns on for a few secs, then off for a few sec then back on again. And recently when it turns back on it makes a constant beep which does not go off. It boots fine but to disable the beep, I have to leave it on for a min then shut down the computer and start it up again.

There are no motherboard error codes or anything I can see. I do however suspect the issue may be down to the PSU as it's the oldest component and the fan is a bit noisy.

I'd like to gather your thoughts before buying replacement parts.

Here are the spec:
Asus Maximus gene-z IV Motherboard
Intel I7-2600 CPU
AMD Radeon HD 5800 GFX
Gskill Ripsaw X 16gb Memory
2 x Vertex 4 SSD
Cooler Master 1000w RS-A00-ESBA PSU

Its only 1 - and lasts until the computer is switch off. For example this morning It turned on and I made some coffee, I heard the noise for over 5 mins - one continuous beep even when it was in windows.

It appears it is my RAM, dont know if there is an actual fault with it but pulling it out and back in seem to resolve the issue. Ill continue to monitor - but thankfully it was an easy fix
