Hi all. When I doing the clean up in one of my hard drive (the only partition in the hard disk), I cleared all the files and left nothing, but I found that some space is still occupied. (Supposed it shall be all storage return for me, eg. 250GB free of 250GB)

With the hidden checked, there has nothing in the drive too. Anyone has any idea what is this about? Where has the space gone? So far I have not formatted this drive yet. Thanks.

If it's a 250 GB hard drive, you don't actually get 250 GB of space on it. That applies to all hard drives, the amount of usable space is always less than the capacity printed on the disk. For a 250 GB drive, the "true" usable capacity is around 232 GB.

It's because drive manufacturer's always quote the capacity in decimal where 1 MB = 1000 kbytes.
Whereas in truth 1 MB = 1024 kbytes.
