Running Windows 7 on a desktop.

Basically my internet cuts out every 1 hour or so and I cant access any webpages, just says, DNS error. My computer is connected via Ethernet cable directly to the modem. I have another computer upstairs that has not had one single drop out, so Im starting to think its my computer.

Things that I have tried;

-Changed ethernet cable
-Changed modems
-Restarted/reset modem
-Unistalled/reinstalled drivers
-Updated drivers
-Flush dns
-Renew the ip
-Reset the TCP/IP
-Restart the DHCP Client
-Restarted computer
-Tried different browers
-Spoke to ISP several times, they say there end is fine
-Changed DNS servers
-Disabled firewall and added exception
-Unistalled antivirus programs

Pinging websites when I get the error results in 100% packet loss. The above fixes make my internet work for about an hour and then it cuts out again. had this problem for a month now and its driving me crazy. I have no malware or virus of any kind. I use Spybot/Malware bytes and Hitman Pro. My computer is 1 month old and still under warranty, took it back to where I got it, and they said everything is fine, only saying that it could be a DNS issue, but did not help me resolve it.

I am offering a reward to anyone that can help me!!

in device manager, find the lan card and double click it and advanced and you should have something like the screenshot above for speed with all the options (normally 10, 100, 1gb each with full and half duplex)

look for an updated lan card driver, what's the card model btw? integrated lan from the motherboard? what motherboard?

Yeah theres a whole bunch of speeds with either Full Duplex or Half Duplex. Dont see how that can cause any issues. Even when using just wireless, I still manage to disconnect, speed of card has no effect im guessing.

just try it, force it to 10mb full duplex and see how it goes. the overall speed will be a bit smaller but at least we get a sense if it's cable/modem/card issues.

same happens on wireless too? only on your pc? you have skype running by any chance? i had an issue once where skype sometimes disabled by lan completely and only way to fix it was a hard restart.

Yeah its still happens on wirless, I have skype running yeah. But it hasn't disabled completely.

on my laptop it was really annoying it closed out my wireless card every about 20 minutes if i was on a call, never found why but eventually the problem went away after i started to use skype less often and upgraded my wlan card drivers so i stopped worrying about it...

really curious if this is your problem too
