Hey guys/gals,

I'm in bit of a dilemma. I want a new headset, (currently running with Sennheiser HD555s). I have a sound card, HT Omega Claro, which has just done wonders for my music and gaming. All these new gaming headsets are coming out with 7.1 surround, but it's all going through a crappy USB interface. I never understood how people could do that and expect amazing sound. The sound my Omega card produces is like none other i've heard, even from rivals (if you can even call it that) Creative soundcards. My buddy just bought a Logitech G35, and I put it on, but it can't come close to the quality that my old Sennheisers produce through my card. My question is, are there even any gaming headsets out there that would be beneficial to use with my soundcard and would be an upgrade from what I have(have to have 3.5 jack). Or should I just stick with these and keep using a desk mic? I wanted a true surround sound headphone. I don't just game, I record, and listen to music. Sound quality is incredibly important. Most of my friends say "Soundcards are dead, just use onboard". That statement alone shows true ignorance. ANy thoughts?

Thanks

Jacob
