Why my wireless is still asking validating identity when i unchecked the top box "Enable IEEE 802.1x

i unchecked the top box "Enable IEEE 802.1x still my laptop (compaq 610) is not connecting to the wifi.
my router is (tp-wr740n)
plz do answer

Most home systems only use the preshared key to get access to a network. If the router is set in enterprise mode then it likely is using 802.1x

I think turning that off only tells the router you will not authenticate using 802.1x but I suspect that only works for routers that accept both 802.1x and preshared keys as a option.

You likely just need to set up the WPA/WPA2 key to get it to work.
