I've had my computer over 6 months now and have all of a sudden started experiencing a drop in GPU usage during all games. It will drop to anywhere from 2-50% which seriously drops fps making games unplayable. This only lasts for seconds at a times but occurs frequently, sometimes up to five times a minute.

Specs:

GPU: Nvidia gtx 650 (overclocked)
CPU cooling: corsair H55 liquid cooling
CPU:AMD FX 6300 6 core (overclocked)
PSU:400w
Mobo: asrock n68c-gs fx
Case:Cooler Master Elite 430 (5 fans)
RAM: 8gb corsair

all my temperatures are very low and bottlenecking from CPU doesnt seem to occur because its usage climbs when GPU falls. All drivers are updated.

Please help.

I am having this exact problem as well. I've been having it regularly for the last few months actually.

I just bought a GTX660 thinking it was my 6850 HD, but nothing has changed.

Win 7 64 (SP1)
AMD phenom II X4 955 3.20
GTX660 (9.18.13.2723)
8gb Corsair

When playing Planetside 2, BF3/4, Starcraft2, Natural Selection 2 or really any game, i get frame drops from 50~70 to 10 for about 10s every few minutes.

I've seen on other threads that have mentioned this issue:

I'm thinking that for me it could be my mobo/X4 setup.. But I haven't really seen anyone reply and state "this fixed it."..
