Wondering how good this PC is for graphics...

So I built this PC back in September, not really thinking that it would match next gen consoles, but after reading some things, I'm wondering if my rig is actually roughly equal to a ps4. I know this probably gets asked a lot, so sorry in advance:

CPU: i7 4770
GPU: GTX 660ti (2GB)
8 GB ddr3 RAM

The HDD is kind of old and I don't even know if that matters really. I got the GPU on sale; I wasn't originally intending to get such a powerful card. Reason I ask is because if/when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, along with a handful of other games, I'll be at odds with whether or not to even bother getting a next gen console or just play them on my PC if it's just as good.

Oh, and I generally run 1600x900 resolution right now. That's all my current monitor can muster.

It will match the ps4 but its not better than the ps4.If you want better than a ps4 than get a gtx 760 or 770 if your budget is more than that.Or get the GTX 780 which neutralizes the ps4 or get the GTX 780 ti which will just destrooooyyy the ps4.The rest of your rig is better than the ps4 :).

-your CPU puts the next gen consoles to shame.
-your HDD doesn't really matter for performance, but if you get a 128-256GB SSD your system will run much faster. It'll run like a dream
-your RAM is enough for any game out there
-your GPU is the slowest part of the system, but still pretty good. On paper it is much faster than the next gen consoles, but due to console optimization and bad ports it might be a little bit on the slow part. Still it is a powerful card and will let you run any game out there without a problem

The good thing is that with a powerful CPU your system will be very easy to upgrade. If you ever find the performance lacking get a new GPU (make sure your PSU is powerful enough and that you have enough space in the case) and your PC will embarrass next-gen consoles. Though again, your GPU is no slouch, it is just that most games are incredibly GPU bound, so even a $1000 GPU can slow down a $200 CPU depending on the game and the settings.

I'd like to think a PC kept up-to-date will always out-perform any console. If you spend a couple hundred a year on your rig you will always out-perform a console. Until they start making consoles more up-gradable PCs will always rule in terms of graphics. Plus all the other uses of a PC. Consoles are popular because of their ease-of-use. Anyone who knows anything about PCs know PCs are the way to go. Plus, with the advent of streaming and the new steam boxes, PCs are just going to blow the console market apart. GO PC!

You have a good rig. Your graphics card isn't bad, it's probably better than most. It's comparable to the new consoles which are running off of two-year old technology. For $250 you could upgrade to a 760. However, at this time of year I'd wait. It's likely Nvidia will launch their new cards soon which will most-likely drop overall prices. Plus Radeon's cards are way over-priced right now. They will drop in price, making the 280 a killer deal. So, just wait a couple months. You're card is fine, spend a couple hundred in a few months on a better one.

Peace

Yeah I mean I didn't build the thing specifically for gaming. I built it for kind of multi-purpose speed and low maintenance; hence the lack of overclocking. But, I do play PC games and didn't want them to perform poorly, which is why I got the GPU. Even if it isn't quite as good as next gen, I'm good with getting close because I have no problem upgrading the GPU down the road. I'm looking to play more PC games in the future because I've been very console heavy most of my life since I didn't have a good PC. Now that I've built a good one, I need it to pay for itself...haha.
