G'day everyone,
I will be honest up front about this: I despise Apple to the highest extent. Period. Done. Over with. That's not what this thread is about so don't start posting rebuttals and turn this into a big mess because I will not respond to you. The above being said, my cousins (who are very into Apple products) decided to get me an iPod Touch for my birthday, and I would prefer not to return it so that A)-I don't offend them, and B)-so that if they never see me with it I don't get into an argument with them over Apple.

Now, I also dislike iTunes extremely and how iTunes and IOS organize music. Most of my music came from sources other than iTunes, so it doesn't have all that pretty metadata and artwork and makes it a pain when I have it on my iPod because I want to organize my music how I want to not how iTunes and Apple wants to. Is there a way to put stuff (pics, music, etc.) on my iPod without iTunes. I am not looking for a software alternative. All I want is to be able to open up my Ipod when I connect it to my computer and manage it like you would a flash drive, with folders and drag and drop/copy/paste and organize the stuff I want in there. If there is anyway to do this or anyone that can help me do this, It would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Wuubb

As far as I know you can't directly copy and paste without some type of software as the iPod cannot be used like a typical storage device. That's not to say there aren't alternatives to iTunes. I know you don't want to use management software but this link - http://www.imobie.com/support/copy-music-from-computer-... - may be worth a read. Yes, the software recommended is a media management package but according to the site it does allow for drag and drop.
