Dual SLi GTX 770 - Screens randomly go black and monitors lose input

Hey, http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1949997/recently-built-games-screen-black-buzzes.html That happened a while ago and now ive put back in my second card and got a 1000W modular PSU, ive got everything as it was before but now randomly, playing league or browsing the web all three monitors will go black and my middle one came back to a black/dark redish screen with no sound atall, just there... I pulled out the DVI cable and put it back in and it kept the same solid colour so I need this fixed as it forces me to do a restart. Is this a virus? Ive updated my graphic drivers to the latest

Right, I have tried both cards on their own and they both work fine. is it the sli cable? my installation? my brand new psu?

I got amazon to send me a new GPU just in case but amazon recipt doesent have a serial code to match up to send my old one back and the other I got from SCAN.CO.UK has a serial but I dont know where it is on the gpu, can you help?[/quotemsg]

Garan,

The retailer has to be able to tell you which serial # they sold you. As for the location on the GPU, it will be visible on the back of the PCB (circuit board) in small letters and usually with a bar code.

If it's true that the problem even occured while browsing the web, here is what I would...

If you don't know which card is which, install just one and check it for awhle to make sure it works, then take it out and install the other and do the same to make sure that the problem is not one of the cards.

It works yes but is non modular, takes forever to put in and only works with a single card

I think it will work with both. Product page says it has 4 PCI-E Connectors (6+2-Pin).

If both cards work independently, I would consider checking them both together with your old power supply. Unplug any unneccessary periferals from the motherboad and make sure you're not overclocking any components and that PSU should power both cards just fine for testing. IF it does work, I think you can assume the new PSU is faulty.

I have 4 PCI-E but theres not enough power there to run two 250W cards plus my i7 + 16GB of ram on the mobo aparantly and corsair said its normal

Im positive because if I unplug it and plug it back in it still shows the no input on both and the middle one is that weird blue/red/black colour

If it's true that the problem even occured while browsing the web, here is what I would do. Test it with your old power supply. But, only have your CPU, 1 stick of memory, your SSD (if that is where your OS is installed, and both GPU's connected. In other words don't connect other hard drives, your optical drive, and case fans. Make sure you DO connect your CPU fan.

This power supply should run these compenents just fine for testing in web browsing. If don't have the problem with the old power supply, I would RMA the new power supply.

The new PSU is only a couple days old anyway so ill try with the new cards, if it still happends ill order a new psu and if it still happends then im lost

hmmm, So its not the SLI bridge... if its not the GPU or PSU what could it be?

If it's neither of those, that leaves the motherboard. Possibly a problem with the 2nd PCI-E slot since you never have problems with a singe card. Have you tried just running 1 card for awhile using the 2nd slot instead of the first? You won't benefit from the full 16 lanes using this slot, but you can atleast still test with it.

I've tested 1 GPU in both slots and it worked fine, ive got my new gpu and am trying sli now, ive cleaned my motherboard using compressed air today so lets see how it goes.
