hi, i just built a pc and i bough a i3 3240 but i'd say in 6,onths to a year i will buy the i5 3570. Will my 500 watt corsair cx be a ble to support and i5 and a pny GTX 650 2gb?

Solution
A Geforce GTX 650 needs at least 20 amps on the 12 volt rail and a 400 watt power supply.

The wattage isn't the key the amps on the 12 volt rail are.

Your CX500 has 38 amps on the 12v rail and is sufficient to power your specs.
SR-71 Blackbird

According to Nvidia gtx 650 has maximum power consumption of 64W.On safe side let it be 100W.
So current required is =100W÷12V which is approx. 9A
But you are saying it needs ATLEAST 20A which I totally dont get it.
Can you SR-71 Blackbird please explain to me???
